From the Heart Stamps - January Challenge

I've just started playing with digital stamps, and found a great site with adorable images:  fromtheheartstamps.  This image, Cozy Kittens, is perfect for a valentine for my granddaughter.  I'm no coloring expert, but enjoyed trying.  I hope she likes it.

  6. You may not consider yourself a colouring expert but you did a beautiful job with them. Lovely card Wilma.

When you left a comment on my blog you had mentioned that you are just getting started with digital stamps and had asked if I use a special program for doing digital paper piecing? I use Photoshop Elements 12. If you don't have photoshop I know there is a free program out there called Gimp that should work as well. It takes a bit of time and work to accomplish--for example I had to create a new file for each section of paper piecing but the end results are definitely worth the effort. It was fun being able to apply 'fur' textures to the cats and material textures to the scarves. Additionally, with a collection of scrapbooking papers you can add 'wallpaper' to the background of an image or use a pattern or even a simply background to create a sky. It is also great to be able to create clothing from material textures! So many fun ways to explore digitally. I often do a lot of hybrid projects as well where I might digitally piece in a sky and add some grass with a brush and use a background for someone's dress, then print it out and colour in the rest. There is nothing stopping you but the limits of your imagination.

    Good luck!
