My daughter sends packages and cards regularly to some of our soldiers in Iraq. I wanted to make her some special cards, and thought this idea (CASE'd from my upline, Carrie Chase) would fit the bill.
I used the 'possum and "Hang In There" stamps from Stampin' Up's "Mini Mates". The greeting is from "Cheery Chat." I also used Stampin' Up's tag punches and Fiskar's "Stamp" edge scissors, along with a faux postage template from Splitcoast Stampers. Finally, I added a piece of simple lined notebook paper, lightly attached, so DD could add her own personal note to each card, and shipped them out to her yesterday. I'm proud of her for doing her part to support and encourage our boys in the armed forces.
I started stamping and card making several years ago when my daughter took me to a home stamping party. When she no longer wanted them, I bought ALL her stamps AND all her friend's stamp pads, mailed them to Colorado where I'm living now, and started playing more seriously. I love card making, painting or drawing, sewing and all kinds of crafts.

Happy Easter!
New House
I may have already mentioned this, but I'm a retired teacher that didn't stay retired. I'm working full-time so my DH (also a retired teacher) can build our dream home. He's doing an awesome job...it's taken about 3 years so far, but it will be SO worth it when we move in.
Today we had to (got to?) pick tile and carpet colors. Making these kinds of decisions is SO HARD! I've never had to (got to?) actually pick how I want my house to look before -- I just took what was available. 8^) Anyway, here's a picture of our fantastic home-in-progress. I'm really proud of what a wonderful job DH is doing (that's not TOO obvious, is it???)

First try
I feel like I'm fairly computer literate, even though I'm no spring chicken...and I've been browsing through some wonderfully inspiring stamping blogs...so I'm going to try my hand at this BLOGGING business. I can't imagine anyone wanting to read about my day to day existence, but who knows? I'm looking forward to posting some pictures of my cards.
