When she no longer wanted them, I bought ALL her stamps AND all her friend's stamp pads, mailed them to Colorado where I'm living now, and started playing more seriously. I love card making, painting or drawing, sewing and all kinds of crafts.Wilmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16178993637449314769noreply@blogger.comBlogger165125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199430758656807341.post-43811940583578325092019-01-15T08:27:00.002-07:002019-01-15T08:27:53.031-07:00Bad Blogger!I can't believe I haven't posted anything since September!! No excuses - just haven't bothered, I guess.<br />
<br />
There have been a few changes since I last posted here. Fun Stampers Journey no longer exists as a separate company, so I'm no longer a coach. FSJ merged with Spellbinders, so you can still get their products by going to <a href="https://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/fun-stampers-journey/" target="_blank">https://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/fun-stampers-journey/ </a>(that's how I still get "stuff") but you can't order from me any longer. Denise and I are still holding our monthly Saturday Stampers classes, though, and enjoying the freedom to demonstrate products from many different companies.<br />
<br />
In fact, we had a great class this past Saturday, making these four cards:<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I will try to post a bit more regularly in 2019...let's see how I do with THAT resolution! Hopefully better than losing weight...<br />

Denise and I have been discussing whether or not to continue posting pictures of the cards we'll be making at upcoming classes. What do you think? Any input is welcome!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
A couple weeks ago, we finally had a chance to work on the back yard a little. There's still a LONG way to go, but every little bit helps. It was so hot - I really felt sorry for people who work outside all year long.<br />
<br />
We added three more rock steps, terraced the hill, and planted a real, non-native tree that we purchased at Perennial Favorites, an awesome nursery between Colorado City and Rye. It's an Idaho poplar...or maybe a Utah poplar...well, it's SOME kind of poplar tree!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MMAcM8J_-Qo/W1dllbq0EqI/AAAAAAAAD2g/36DM6nFc0sgHPtB6HOIyVWQjzOqYW-R8gCLcBGAs/s1600/PtWn3F7NRHaKqrOk37kTxA.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="200" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MMAcM8J_-Qo/W1dllbq0EqI/AAAAAAAAD2g/36DM6nFc0sgHPtB6HOIyVWQjzOqYW-R8gCLcBGAs/s200/PtWn3F7NRHaKqrOk37kTxA.jpg" width="150" /></a><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uoscr-2Z3Co/W1dlaqaF0EI/AAAAAAAAD2Q/K-5NPN1MLwY8VNbDVpwx-o_r9WlSuIm7QCLcBGAs/s1600/SUmXjMkBS3a4G1wYzVbCeQ.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a></div>
Next we need to plant a purple smoke bush that we purchased at the same time. It's still living on the deck, though, because we can't figure out where to put it.<br />
<br />
The garden is doing fairly well, but slow because of how hot and dry it's been. This year I'm experimenting with peas. Last year I tried yellow squash, but that stuff has stickery things all over it! I decided I don't need to grow something that hurts me when I try to harvest it.<br />
<br />
Not a terribly exciting blog post, but I'm really trying to get something on here at least once a week. So, until next week....<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Should be fun, and although we haven't heard back from anyone yet, we usually have around 8 ladies attend.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Other than preparing for class, I've just been kind of puttering around. I'd like to start some sewing projects, but need to clean up and organize in my craft cave before I allow myself to do that. I've also set myself a goal to blog at least once every week, but I'm finding it hard to get back into the swing of things. I just looked back at some of my photos - maybe I'll pick one or two every week and use that for inspiration.</div>
<br />Wilmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16178993637449314769noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199430758656807341.post-47315319148334371112018-07-16T05:12:00.001-06:002018-07-16T05:12:11.177-06:00Planners and Bullet JournalsSo....is anyone out there into the planner / bullet journal craze? I attended a meeting of the Pueblo Planner Peeps today, and was amazed! What a creative group of ladies! They have multiple planners, special pens and stickers, and all kinds of decorative accents.<br />
<br />
My idea of planning is noting appointments and plans on my phone calendar, adding groceries to my phone list app, or writing a "to-do" list on my phone notes app. I mean, I always have me phone with me, and the apps sync with my husband's apps, so we always see the same info. I'm really not sure how or where to start, but I'll stick my toe in the water, just to see what this addiction is all about.<br />
<br />
I happen to already have two planners from FSJ - an orange personal size one that I use for stamping and FSJ product-related information, creative notes and orders. Then at Convention we were all given an A5 planner that I haven't started to use yet. I'm not ready to dive into those just yet, but they're here when I need them!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ImEuiezHbSM/W0wJA7Ze2RI/AAAAAAAAD1A/J5P_W7fkBv8x5RRO8VsHnuRt67eY3tUNACLcBGAs/s1600/NPRuuf9kSw2eAeZ0or4PUg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="150" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ImEuiezHbSM/W0wJA7Ze2RI/AAAAAAAAD1A/J5P_W7fkBv8x5RRO8VsHnuRt67eY3tUNACLcBGAs/s200/NPRuuf9kSw2eAeZ0or4PUg.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
My first goal is to learn about bullet journaling. I've dug out a small spiral notebook with a hard cover, some pens and a ruler and put them all in a handy little box. On the first page of the notebook, I wrote the KEY:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3GbgArOAQIE/W0wKDa42aKI/AAAAAAAAD1I/v7XV1gFtnj8ezFwY0wTZFC97ghGE8c1NQCLcBGAs/s1600/fullsizeoutput_1361.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1374" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3GbgArOAQIE/W0wKDa42aKI/AAAAAAAAD1I/v7XV1gFtnj8ezFwY0wTZFC97ghGE8c1NQCLcBGAs/s320/fullsizeoutput_1361.jpeg" width="274" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Apparently my next step to is create a MONTHLY - basically just a calendar. One of the ladies I met showed me her journal. The pages were blank except for faint, evenly spaced dots. Those dots helped her draw the lines for her calendar.<br />
<br />
Well, we'll see if I do this or not!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

We water every morning, but so far it seems that's just enough to keep things alive! Not even the ONE zucchini plant that lived is growing much. But finally the parsley and basil are about ready to use, the peppers are about ready to start blooming, and we actually have four or five small green tomatoes and one that's starting to turn a bit pink. The strawberries don't seem to be doing much - no booms, berries, or runners, but maybe they'll pick up a bit this fall. The asparagus are doing well. We don't harvest yet, just let it go to fern and seed to let it get more established. And the peony is doing great - I might actually get a flower next year!<br />

On the other hand, the Russian Sage is spreading like wildfire. I really need to get it under control. I trimmed up the catmint, tarragon, and rosemary today, so they'll look a little better.<br />
<br />
We just purchased a purple smoke bush/tree, and I've been trying to decide where to put it and researching when/how to prune it to keep it as a bush. This resource seems pretty good. Now I just have to remember to check it early next spring! <a href="http://homeguides.sfgate.com/prune-smoke-bush-42068.html">http://homeguides.sfgate.com/prune-smoke-bush-42068.html</a><br />

We also bought a Utah Poplar tree. We really miss the two aspens that died, so are hoping this will help fill that space.Wilmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16178993637449314769noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199430758656807341.post-42555553433298478192018-07-11T11:11:00.000-06:002018-07-11T11:23:11.947-06:00Bits 'n' PiecesBoy, I sure haven't done anything here on the blog lately. Summer always seems to be so busy that I don't want to be on the computer much. I'm still crafting now and then, but my garden seems to get more of my attention.<br />
<br />
Since I last posted, I attended the FSJ Convention in Phoenix, AZ with downlines Denise and Sue and upline Nanette. This was my third one, and the best so far, I think. It's so much fun! Our new catalog is really amazing too. I love it! Check out the online version by clicking the link at the right.<br />

(P.S. If you'd like to go with me next year, contact me about joining FSJ. You can join for as little as $50 and the minimum required purchase/sales are $150 per quarter. Coaches get 20% off everything, too. It's really a great company to work with - a very helpful, friendly, family-type organization.)</div>

I haven't been using my Scan n Cut a lot lately, but I did use it to cut out the whale for the "Get Whale Soon" card that Denise designed. (I don't have time in class to completely make the card kits she brings, so I do the stamping and preparation, then put them together when I get home.) I also stamped some sentiments, drew a pencil line around them, and used the SnC to cut just inside the line. I should take some pictures of that process some day!<br />

I guess I've rambled long enough, so I'll say bye for now.</div>

The first 3 weeks I got to baby-sit my 5-year-old and 2-month-old granddaughters, and the next 3 weeks I spent camping, hiking and soaking up sun with my husband near Tucson, Arizona. It's good to be home, but I've realized how much I need to do to catch up on things!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pNPd8eKNdVU/WtEXnMqzDGI/AAAAAAAADw8/qaCqdzFHiecntneIMtJhRLCqYA526H7WwCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1613.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pNPd8eKNdVU/WtEXnMqzDGI/AAAAAAAADw8/qaCqdzFHiecntneIMtJhRLCqYA526H7WwCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1613.jpg" width="320" /></a> Of course I HAVE to share a picture of my beautiful girls before focusing on anything else!<br />
<br />
I wanted to take something along for each of them, but Addi has too many toys and Jemma has no need of them yet, so I decided to create something for their rooms. Here's the result, cut with my Silhouette Cameo from patterns purchased from 3Dcuts.com. We hung them both up at a little "Welcome Baby Jemma" brunch my daughter held. She also helped me de-stash a bunch of extra cards I had by giving them as door prizes to the guests that brought diapers!<br />

Instead of just cutting around the elephant, it was also cutting out the ear and the eye. So I decided to try experimenting a little with the settings.<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-t913xsNg2oI/Wn49vIsLehI/AAAAAAAADu8/fJ4df9ap5M0YtzyYuIcuDuU1OLkRbnW6ACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2018-02-09%2Bat%2B5.32.18%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="168" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-t913xsNg2oI/Wn49vIsLehI/AAAAAAAADu8/fJ4df9ap5M0YtzyYuIcuDuU1OLkRbnW6ACK4BGAYYCw/s200/Screen%2BShot%2B2018-02-09%2Bat%2B5.32.18%2BPM.png" width="200" /></a><br />
I used my 2017 birthday stamp, because it has LOTS of open areas that might lend themselves to a bad cut. My first scan was terrible - so I tried again and had better results. I have no idea what the difference was! But I discovered that I was able to get just an outline when scanning in black and white (the center setting) OR in color mode if I stayed at 5 or more colors. Taking the colors down to 2 gave me the ability to scan the inside lines as well. Here are my results, if anyone's interested!!<br />

I'm not sure how this will relate to our cute little elephant, but hopefully it will help me remember to try different scan settings to find the best scan for the results I want at least.<br />

This particular stamp set has a lot of feathery little areas and broken lines. Here's one way to cut images like this.<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FbjQNp60Ins/WnEL6qrdosI/AAAAAAAADsA/4cbIgiuU0BQQCrAU42tJTQGpvN0IpMCswCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1379.jpg" imageanchor="1"><br /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GOvP9ktzz64/WnEMnUW0blI/AAAAAAAADsY/byRwAgZrthQv24n_J9mvAVKyEtG2SN1ggCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/Hummingbird.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GOvP9ktzz64/WnEMnUW0blI/AAAAAAAADsY/byRwAgZrthQv24n_J9mvAVKyEtG2SN1ggCK4BGAYYCw/s200/Hummingbird.png" width="193" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d5hiQ-o3lEo/WnEMsLzdthI/AAAAAAAADsg/AW4SYfCwC-IVwtLnmWJZru-JfzC11t_qACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/Petunia.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d5hiQ-o3lEo/WnEMsLzdthI/AAAAAAAADsg/AW4SYfCwC-IVwtLnmWJZru-JfzC11t_qACK4BGAYYCw/s200/Petunia.png" width="148" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hWVDXm_VkPg/WnEMvhsPXeI/AAAAAAAADso/Wy1WSTP-tjABu11RQO1lFzKCNq7qhhq7gCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/Hello.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hWVDXm_VkPg/WnEMvhsPXeI/AAAAAAAADso/Wy1WSTP-tjABu11RQO1lFzKCNq7qhhq7gCK4BGAYYCw/s200/Hello.png" width="98" /></a><br />
<br />
1. Draw around the image with a pencil:<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m6TbAsGgLy0/WnENbzM9hMI/AAAAAAAADs4/tmftt5gg4Z4rxyRrQNcBNZRT_e8cAzZHACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1381.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m6TbAsGgLy0/WnENbzM9hMI/AAAAAAAADs4/tmftt5gg4Z4rxyRrQNcBNZRT_e8cAzZHACK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1381.jpg" width="266" /></a> <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bL-UWz-GKKo/WnEnscrPuLI/AAAAAAAADt0/kFCuzU1yiEILK1lTozjgzdMPzTy1kAUEACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1399.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bL-UWz-GKKo/WnEnscrPuLI/AAAAAAAADt0/kFCuzU1yiEILK1lTozjgzdMPzTy1kAUEACK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1399.jpg" width="280" /></a><br />
2. Scan to Direct Cut, using the Black/White setting. Frame the scanned image with the arrows.<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YtS7vxI7K9A/WnEjoHUfU2I/AAAAAAAADtE/6enlwyJay_kPVXEuH9rGDkkm72gEUpYJACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1401.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YtS7vxI7K9A/WnEjoHUfU2I/AAAAAAAADtE/6enlwyJay_kPVXEuH9rGDkkm72gEUpYJACK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1401.jpg" width="240" /></a> <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ICanmFbADUo/WnEkLPG8API/AAAAAAAADtQ/Kdp_X6dPviwDmhjI6UgByW7Du1MNrpTkgCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1402.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ICanmFbADUo/WnEkLPG8API/AAAAAAAADtQ/Kdp_X6dPviwDmhjI6UgByW7Du1MNrpTkgCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1402.jpg" width="240" /></a><br />
3. Click on the double circle tool (offset??). Adjust the border to a negative number. I used -0.02 and -0.03. By using a negative border, the image should cut INSIDE the pencil line so you don't have to erase it.<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QgQXg2Xlr_0/WnElybHqIEI/AAAAAAAADtc/argscnPTFDU4Qst0zldU-4McbbtQ0GcZwCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1403.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QgQXg2Xlr_0/WnElybHqIEI/AAAAAAAADtc/argscnPTFDU4Qst0zldU-4McbbtQ0GcZwCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1403.jpg" width="240" /></a> <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SLoz8-Yex84/WnEl9vrx8HI/AAAAAAAADtk/ZEqq-ZVvsGAljvHfGuezGgEbCYb777k-QCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1404.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SLoz8-Yex84/WnEl9vrx8HI/AAAAAAAADtk/ZEqq-ZVvsGAljvHfGuezGgEbCYb777k-QCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1404.jpg" width="240" /></a><br />
4. Cut the image - erase any stray pencil lines that are left. Here are the results from the three images I tried. With a -0.03 border, the pencil line is removed when the image is cut.<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PgtmI85ign0/WnEn9-i99xI/AAAAAAAADt8/xGrUpcUtjl8T8PXJMpIX8-7uUr7txajDACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1407.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PgtmI85ign0/WnEn9-i99xI/AAAAAAAADt8/xGrUpcUtjl8T8PXJMpIX8-7uUr7txajDACK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1407.jpg" width="320" /></a> <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4N5WobS8azA/WnEoKhjGbtI/AAAAAAAADuE/tIhgTuHnfh0atkLrGr1Z7c05dQ10MupAQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1408.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4N5WobS8azA/WnEoKhjGbtI/AAAAAAAADuE/tIhgTuHnfh0atkLrGr1Z7c05dQ10MupAQCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1408.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Other methods involve tracing the outline on an acetate sheet, but this pencil-outline method is quick and easy.Wilmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16178993637449314769noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199430758656807341.post-45253993483861480522018-01-24T13:59:00.002-07:002018-01-24T13:59:33.528-07:00Valentines and MermaidsWow! It's been a REALLY long time since I've updated this page. I guess it's about time.<br />
<br />
My January class is this Saturday. I was so excited to order the new FSJ <a href="http://www.funstampersjourney.com/PWS/WILMAPAYNE/store/AM/product/Magical-Unicorn-Stamp-Set,3340.aspx" target="_blank">Magical Unicorn</a> set immediately when the Bloom This Way mini came out on January 1st! My granddaughter loves unicorns, so this set will get plenty of use, and I had lots of great ideas for a card to make for January's class. Then it was BACK-ORDERED!!! :-( I figured I'd better come up with an alternative (good thing I did!) in case it didn't come in time. So....unicorns are magic and so are mermaids! I used a previous Bloom Box set, <a href="http://www.funstampersjourney.com/PWS/WILMAPAYNE/store/AM/product/Mermaid-Kisses-Stamp-Set,3242.aspx" target="_blank">Mermaid Kisses</a>. It's still available, but only while supplies last. (I'm thinking about bringing the unicorn along Saturday - so folks can choose whether they want a mermaid or a unicorn.) Both sets have matching dies available.<br />

<br />
And, since we're at the end of January, Valentine's Day is coming up, so a treat box is also on the agenda. I got the idea for this one right off the Funs Stampers Journey blog. It's fun to make, and a great way to package up some cookies or Valentine candy. Now I just need to bake and frost some cookies to take along for snacks.<br />

I immediately set out to find recipes for using them - I figured there would be piles of information out on the web. Well...basically I discovered that I need to search HARD! Since I'm probably going to lose the ideas I've found, I decided I'd better put them all in one place, thus this blog post! If anyone reads this and wants to add more ideas, they will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much to other IP users who have shared the following ideas.<br />
<br />
<b>Barbara Schlake</b> shared these in the Facebook Group, <u>Instant Pot Recipes Only</u>:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><a href="https://thisoldgal.com/pressure-cooker-chinese-orange-pepper-chicken/" target="_blank">Chinese Orange Pepper Chicken</a> in the bottom pan, and Rice in the top pan</li>
<li>Meatloaf on the bottom, and Potatoes or Cornbread on the top</li>
</ul>
<div>
<b>Melissa Nesgoda</b> shared several ideas in the same group:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Chicken on the bottom, with a bottled sauce or marinade, and Rice or Vegetables on top</li>
<li>Egg bake with cheese, vegetables, hashbrowns, etc. - not sure if that would take both pans</li>
<li>Reheat two leftovers at once</li>
<li>Lipton noodle side dishes - she mentions you should just use half the liquid it calls for</li>
<li>Noodles with alfredo sauce in one, pasta with spaghetti sauce in the other</li>
</ul>
<div>
In the <u>Instant Pot Community</u> Facebook Group, many people offered ideas:</div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li><b>Mary Simpson</b> recommends salmon on the bottom and broccoli on the top (sounds healthy!)</li>
<li><b>Cindy Baldwin</b> suggested Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes</li>
<li><b>Lisa Kennard Martin</b> said she makes two layers of egg bites (and warns that you may need to increase or even double the time needed)</li>
</ul>
<div>
<b>Jeffrey Eisner</b> at PressureLuck.com (he is so funny!) uses the stackables for:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://pressureluckcooking.com/recipe/instant-pot-holiday-honey-ham/" target="_blank">Holiday Honey Ham</a></li>
<li>Lasagna Rolls</li>
<li>Blintz Souffle</li>
<li>Pineapple Upside-Down Cake</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
I've joined quite a few Facebook Groups for the IP, and continue to find more. I plan to add to this list as I find new recipes or groups:</div>

Now that everything's ready for Christmas, I've decided it's time to make up a couple dozen birthday cards. My mom always needs these, and it's also nice to have some made up for times when I forget a birthday till the last minute! I wanted a simple design to mass-produce, and figured this would also be a good way to use up some retired paper. But this particular die cut doesn't show up well against the patterned paper, and makes the card look way too busy. I'm not about to fussy cut that many backgrounds, so I pulled out the Scan 'n' Cut.<br />
<br />
First I used the gifts die from the For You Die Set (DI-0252) to cut a bunch of the open images.<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-z0-dtPg5GGA/Wj6Tki-kVCI/AAAAAAAADm4/EwhyWwwYg0U8V-flYMvr4_b4SRd0Aag9ACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_3390.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="140" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-z0-dtPg5GGA/Wj6Tki-kVCI/AAAAAAAADm4/EwhyWwwYg0U8V-flYMvr4_b4SRd0Aag9ACK4BGAYYCw/s200/IMG_3390.JPG" width="200" /></a><br />
Then I used one of the negative shapes to create my Scan 'n' Cut pattern for the backgrounds. Select SCAN, then SCAN TO CUT DATA.<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Yjic1G3wfrg/Wj6U3ZA0BSI/AAAAAAAADng/AmTyZep5XokzxPpQSCm1VmIBS7NNP2mSQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_3417.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Yjic1G3wfrg/Wj6U3ZA0BSI/AAAAAAAADng/AmTyZep5XokzxPpQSCm1VmIBS7NNP2mSQCK4BGAYYCw/s200/IMG_3417.JPG" width="150" /></a><br />
After scanning, I framed the shape I wanted and outlined it. Then I saved the pattern to my machine. You can also save to a USB thumb drive if desired. Now I have the shape, I can use it anytime I need it.<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LYKdJqvTa50/Wj6VxgdVE5I/AAAAAAAADn0/1xqg0J8i9Iw70_WGjPWa7R52nxmBWMwDQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_3418.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LYKdJqvTa50/Wj6VxgdVE5I/AAAAAAAADn0/1xqg0J8i9Iw70_WGjPWa7R52nxmBWMwDQCK4BGAYYCw/s200/IMG_3418.JPG" width="150" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_HTuHXpfQXw/Wj6VkcSrhSI/AAAAAAAADns/b43XKRHEK8c1gWVXdNfN_3c8HntdLijTQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_3419.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_HTuHXpfQXw/Wj6VkcSrhSI/AAAAAAAADns/b43XKRHEK8c1gWVXdNfN_3c8HntdLijTQCK4BGAYYCw/s200/IMG_3419.JPG" width="150" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J1fs5zY3WCo/Wj6V6EQMEVI/AAAAAAAADn8/nL0x6a3dOB49IQhvtlR_m7q13JHzfuCYgCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_3420.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J1fs5zY3WCo/Wj6V6EQMEVI/AAAAAAAADn8/nL0x6a3dOB49IQhvtlR_m7q13JHzfuCYgCK4BGAYYCw/s200/IMG_3420.JPG" width="150" /></a> <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PNG_p3xw5og/Wj6WDh91OsI/AAAAAAAADoE/x0P4owAQWqsaGw-kVA80C_b85VVpdu9wQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_3421.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PNG_p3xw5og/Wj6WDh91OsI/AAAAAAAADoE/x0P4owAQWqsaGw-kVA80C_b85VVpdu9wQCK4BGAYYCw/s200/IMG_3421.JPG" width="150" /></a><br />
<br />
To cut the backgrounds, I selected PATTERN from the home screen, then SAVED DATA. I selected my machine rather than USB, since that's where I saved my background, then used the arrows to get to the file.<br />

Once I had the shape on my workspace, I scanned in the piece of card stock that I wanted to cut. When I can see where my card stock is on my workspace, I slide the pattern into place and cut. (I'm only showing one shape for simplicity's sake, but to do a whole sheet of the same shape, just keep clicking ADD and selecting the shape as many times as needed. But you have to slide each shape off the previous one, as they just pile up in the same spot!!)<br />

Now I just glue the die cut onto the SnC background piece for the finished image.<br />

<br />
I thought about scanning in the actual die cut so it could be resized, etc. But it would take longer to cut all those little pieces, of course, and I'm not sure it would cut cleanly. I scanned it, but haven't tried cutting it and don't think I will. It sure doesn't look very good on the screen at 200%.<br />

This was fun to make. I heat embossed the background with gold embossing powder, then rubbed gold pan pastel over the entire piece. (I think it's time to replace my gold embossing powder. It's kind of speckled!)<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ioUMO7SbHeQ/Wiv_Ovy2ZoI/AAAAAAAADlk/Q3q858F-p8IRvFcQ3mD_582M3v7IZyYBACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1271.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="244" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ioUMO7SbHeQ/Wiv_Ovy2ZoI/AAAAAAAADlk/Q3q858F-p8IRvFcQ3mD_582M3v7IZyYBACK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1271.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
After doing this card for the hop, I decided to make a dozen more for my Christmas card stash this year. It's hard to tell in the photo, but it's very shiny - red glitter paper mats for the center panel and sentiment, and red glitter on all the berries.<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-edN7e5Td3aM/Wiv_NRbNGcI/AAAAAAAADlc/LU26Ff4xCRMT3rl5jgp7DmTwz7AskRFAQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1269.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-edN7e5Td3aM/Wiv_NRbNGcI/AAAAAAAADlc/LU26Ff4xCRMT3rl5jgp7DmTwz7AskRFAQCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1269.JPG" width="245" /></a><br />
<br />
I'm not sure what I'll do with this card - depending on what is stamped inside, I think it could become a birthday, thank you, sympathy, thinking of you or just hello.<br />

<br />
Have you ever had an idea that looked GREAT in your mind, but when it was finished, not so much? This gray and yellow card is one of those. But gotta be real, right? So I'm including it even though I'm not terribly fond of it!! :-)<br />

This is a color combination that I don't use too often, but I think I like it!<br />

I guess I must be learning SOMETHING, because I don't work nearly so hard now!!! It's time for an update. This probably isn't the way I'd cut this particular sentiment, but it was the first stamp that came to hand.<br />
<br />
1. Stamp the sentiments you want to cut. With a fine-tip Sharpie or dry-erase marker, draw a cutting line on a piece of acetate lain over one of the images.<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KozZp2nwQdo/WiYIlEl-ZnI/AAAAAAAADgI/ILvHQ9kzThgzI6c_T4alImdJLhaDrYaKgCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/1%2BStamp.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KozZp2nwQdo/WiYIlEl-ZnI/AAAAAAAADgI/ILvHQ9kzThgzI6c_T4alImdJLhaDrYaKgCK4BGAYYCw/s200/1%2BStamp.jpg" width="150" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KRwmG43T05M/WiYIpJTI-6I/AAAAAAAADgQ/Sj6MHx7Ck_UO_UNEiGztLpfGw6ewpAfdACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/2%2Boutline.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KRwmG43T05M/WiYIpJTI-6I/AAAAAAAADgQ/Sj6MHx7Ck_UO_UNEiGztLpfGw6ewpAfdACK4BGAYYCw/s200/2%2Boutline.jpg" width="150" /></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h_XHhpBCO5I/WiYIzUJSN1I/AAAAAAAADgg/xeV_WgaOm_gKQ8uX_rEAm_Ai8nQpEOLhQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/4%2BSave.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
2. Scan the acetate sheet into the SnC (Scan to Cut Data) and save the shape, either to the machine's memory or your USB thumb drive.<br />

One of the options is to create a QR code. So.... let's see what happens!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XG5eM8L9ag0/WhOt9Td87zI/AAAAAAAADdk/QX5_4u1i3EQ10tuKCQD8g-wu0a0C-w-PQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/golden-christmas.jpeg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XG5eM8L9ag0/WhOt9Td87zI/AAAAAAAADdk/QX5_4u1i3EQ10tuKCQD8g-wu0a0C-w-PQCK4BGAYYCw/s400/golden-christmas.jpeg" /></a><br />
<br />
Supposedly you can scan this code with your smart phone, and it will take you to my project. If anyone tries it, let me know what happens!!<br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: inherit;">
</span>
<div style="color: black; font-size: 12.8px;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="color: #111111;"><span style="font-size: small;">Masking is a simple technique used to give the impression of depth. You can mask with pretty much anything...copy paper, post-it notes, scraps of card stock or washi tape, etc., and you can mask stamped images or shapes. This is a card I stamped recently for a friend in Alaska. </span></span><span style="color: #111111; font-size: small;">The llama and skunk were stamped first, then masked so the mountains could appear "behind" them. Then the closer mountains were also masked and the farther mountains added. </span></span></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: inherit;">
<div style="color: black; font-size: 12.8px;">
<span style="color: #111111; font-family: inherit; font-size: 14px;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ue5vasDHHmA/WgfEgELVh0I/AAAAAAAADak/f6g2XzWFJLUUNiao2hV5okjdfD87ArK-ACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/8%2BFinished%2Bcard.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="251" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ue5vasDHHmA/WgfEgELVh0I/AAAAAAAADak/f6g2XzWFJLUUNiao2hV5okjdfD87ArK-ACK4BGAYYCw/s320/8%2BFinished%2Bcard.jpg" width="320" /></a> </span></div>
</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: inherit;">Here's how I put this one together:</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #111111;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">For small images I use post-it notes for the masks, but for larger or more complex images, I like using this removable tape. Stamp your front image(s) on cardstock and also on the removable tape, then cut out the shapes from the tape. </span></span></div>
<span style="color: #111111; font-family: serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Po4yUcfIpdM/WgfFKNWv3tI/AAAAAAAADaw/9pTwqF7U7UgXatFfIxBepqYZ-YIVGurzwCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/1%2BMasking%2BTape.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="141" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Po4yUcfIpdM/WgfFKNWv3tI/AAAAAAAADaw/9pTwqF7U7UgXatFfIxBepqYZ-YIVGurzwCK4BGAYYCw/s200/1%2BMasking%2BTape.jpg" width="200" /></a></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #111111; font-family: inherit;">Place the mask over the stamped image to protect it.</span><br />
<span style="color: #111111; font-family: inherit;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZJJAOnXwnU/WgfF1yPRFdI/AAAAAAAADa8/8WEOacPRQYMvRJpbvQKoXI9KmxK3UafBwCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/2%2Bplacing%2Bmask.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="135" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZJJAOnXwnU/WgfF1yPRFdI/AAAAAAAADa8/8WEOacPRQYMvRJpbvQKoXI9KmxK3UafBwCK4BGAYYCw/s200/2%2Bplacing%2Bmask.jpg" width="200" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Next, stamp images that will be in the background.</span><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nt3ce7F1YGk/WgfGGacn4RI/AAAAAAAADbE/JynTw2EV2QwJHdcuFXx8So0mdd0y-W28wCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/3%2BStamping%2Bmountains.jpg" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="132" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nt3ce7F1YGk/WgfGGacn4RI/AAAAAAAADbE/JynTw2EV2QwJHdcuFXx8So0mdd0y-W28wCK4BGAYYCw/s200/3%2BStamping%2Bmountains.jpg" width="200" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">It's going to look pretty messy with all the layers of masks and ink...</span><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3pqZTrcgYoo/WgfGb45RDTI/AAAAAAAADbQ/oe_pq7rLoTAGoaE-EXBtiviuLNT4_AhVgCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/4%2BWhat%2Ba%2Bmess.jpg" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3pqZTrcgYoo/WgfGb45RDTI/AAAAAAAADbQ/oe_pq7rLoTAGoaE-EXBtiviuLNT4_AhVgCK4BGAYYCw/s200/4%2BWhat%2Ba%2Bmess.jpg" width="200" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">But the scene is revealed when the masks are removed.</span><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-H9or3Pgg1Fk/WgfGtgk7JmI/AAAAAAAADbY/YXvXSbb8ZXcpbhUV7hX7Fy4abxw6ke54QCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/5%2BMasks%2Bremoved.jpg" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="136" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-H9or3Pgg1Fk/WgfGtgk7JmI/AAAAAAAADbY/YXvXSbb8ZXcpbhUV7hX7Fy4abxw6ke54QCK4BGAYYCw/s200/5%2BMasks%2Bremoved.jpg" width="200" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I colored this with Copic markers, then cut it out with my Scan 'n' Cut. (The insides of a couple of clouds disappeared in the process, but I wasn't about to start all over again!!)</span><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SV6NIipfh5I/WgfHGUQbQuI/AAAAAAAADbk/hGbxiMkJIngbLYdc9Ye7VQhJyn3nJdmfACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/7%2BColored%2Band%2BCut%2Bout.jpg" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="163" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SV6NIipfh5I/WgfHGUQbQuI/AAAAAAAADbk/hGbxiMkJIngbLYdc9Ye7VQhJyn3nJdmfACK4BGAYYCw/s200/7%2BColored%2Band%2BCut%2Bout.jpg" width="200" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For this card I used Fun Stampers Journey sets Creature Comforts (SS-0308), No Prob-LLAMA (SS-0481), and Climbing Mountains (SS-0322).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I really like using masking when I make simple, one-layer cards. It seems to take the stamping up a notch. For this card, I just taped off both sides and sponged color down the center of the card before stamping.</span><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8Rh-7ldJIA4/WgfKE8qyYXI/AAAAAAAADb4/AiI2QmX1xWIEgXiRbei39Hf5oZpMYNQngCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1657.JPG" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8Rh-7ldJIA4/WgfKE8qyYXI/AAAAAAAADb4/AiI2QmX1xWIEgXiRbei39Hf5oZpMYNQngCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1657.JPG" width="244" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Here the yellow bird was stamped first, then masked. The other two were stamped over the mask, then all I had to do was color.</span><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7QFUiF4ChKs/WgkHMnyhEtI/AAAAAAAADck/Pj07uAwAd0sa8xEuBDDn2TyJFd1VGC2AACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1146.jpg" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7QFUiF4ChKs/WgkHMnyhEtI/AAAAAAAADck/Pj07uAwAd0sa8xEuBDDn2TyJFd1VGC2AACK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1146.jpg" width="248" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I made this one quite awhile ago - the masking is subtle, just torn paper held in place at different angles with a little color sponged over the edge to create a background.</span><br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kx_0-FUAL5c/WgkHj9rCmPI/AAAAAAAADcs/65v3IxVl4TU5ssM7mswZ5a53zPSsqGgbQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1145.jpg" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kx_0-FUAL5c/WgkHj9rCmPI/AAAAAAAADcs/65v3IxVl4TU5ssM7mswZ5a53zPSsqGgbQCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1145.jpg" width="249" /></span></a><br />

My 87-year-old mother has recently moved in with us, so I have lots more days of driving to town for doctor appointments, but it sure is nice having her close.<br />
<br />
I haven't had much chance to create just for the fun of it, but my craft cave has been well used and shows it. I can't walk through without pieces of tape and vinyl sticking to my socks!<br />

I've been working on a vinyl wall decoration for my grand-daughter's 5th birthday. She's getting a brand new surprise bedroom for her birthday this month, so her bedroom will be ready for her new baby sister in February. Hopefully I'll be able to show the finished project later, but this is where we stand right now. I want to make some smaller ones too, but this was the BIG project, ready to ship on Monday.<br />

We (my friend and downline, Denise Wieger, and I) also had our big October class last Saturday. It was lots of fun, as always. We have the BEST group of ladies who attend! Three cards each, door prizes, and plenty of food made getting ready quite a job, but it was worth it. Cassie Anaya won the Halloween Haunted House, but of course I forgot to get a picture!<br />

I'd also like to welcome my newest downline Fun Stampers Journey Coach, Sue Lind! She took advantage of the AMAZING sign-up deal to get a $25 starter kit and a $50 Platinum die-cutting machine. This opportunity continues till the end of November.<br />

I'll try to post a little more regularly this month, but who knows!!<br />

<span style="color: #1d2129; font-family: "georgia";"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Now, here are the cards I made this month. I had never tried this technique before, so it was a lot of fun. There are pictures of each card "opened" lower down in this post.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">This was my first attempt at a waterfall card. I kept it fairly simple while learning. As you can see, I kind of misjudged the bottom image that says "Happy Thanksgiving!" The images are from the Bountiful Thanks stamp set in the current Fun Stampers Journey mini catalog. I colored them with watercolor pencils. I'm thinking about attaching a ribbon "pull" to the tab at the bottom so people will know how to "open" the waterfall. </span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">I felt like I was getting the hang of it with this next one, and even stamped on the pull tab. A tip - figure out how much is going to show, and either stamp above or below, because AGAIN my "hello" got chopped off a bit. (I'm a slow learner!) These images are from the "Pretty Birds" ATS set.</span><br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: small;"><br /></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">This is my last card this month. I generally don't do "vintage" style cards, so wanted to move a bit out of my comfort zone, and I actually like it a lot! I used "Day Fern" and "Vintage Notes" for the background, and "Embroidered Rose" for the images, set off with accents from the gorgeous Mystic Romance Prints paper. I did a more detailed tutorial for this card here.</span><br />

<div>

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">And finally, here are some pictures that show a just little of the waterfall action of these cards. They were a bit intimidating at first, but turned out to be pretty simple and a lot of fun to make!</span><br />

I've been experimenting with <a href="https://www.stampkeeper.com/cards/warm-wishes">StampKeeper.com</a>. Take a look - it's a great site where Fun Stampers Journey coaches and Close to My Heart consultants upload projects with pictures, instructions and supply lists. You can browse through many projects, click on one, and have all the information you would need to replicate that project, along with a list of the supplies that are linked directly to the creator's online website so you can just click to shop! Here's the example of the supply list for this card. (This sample isn't clickable! But you can go to <a href="http://funstampersjourney.com/wilmapayne">funstampersjourney.com/wilmapayne</a> or email me if you'd like to order any of these items.)<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YYpgHWY24Uo/Wdv-cXNBVOI/AAAAAAAADVM/0hbF9_Ga9YIHDEEAaHXI3jAepMAwjj_1QCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1076.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YYpgHWY24Uo/Wdv-cXNBVOI/AAAAAAAADVM/0hbF9_Ga9YIHDEEAaHXI3jAepMAwjj_1QCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1076.jpg" width="252" /></a><br />
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
Select your image and card stock. Here are the measurements I used:<div>
<style type="text/css">
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica}
</style>
<div class="p1">
Card Base: 4.25 x 11 scored at 5.5</div>
<div class="p1">
Background Panel: 4 x 5.25</div>
<div class="p1">
Waterfall Mechanism: 2.25 x 9<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></div>
<div class="p1">
(scored at 2, 2.75, 3.5, and 4.25) and same color .75 x 4 (plus brads)</div>
<div class="p1">
4 square mats: 2.25 x 2.25</div>
<div class="p1">
4 images: 2 x 2</div>
<div class="p1">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BUUXTIJkEEw/Wdv9QnU1KPI/AAAAAAAADUI/3A4sM6poODgKsCbD6CDYBkOqNhTsRgHXQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/img_1061.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="293" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BUUXTIJkEEw/Wdv9QnU1KPI/AAAAAAAADUI/3A4sM6poODgKsCbD6CDYBkOqNhTsRgHXQCK4BGAYYCw/s320/img_1061.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<ol>
<li>Stamp images and mat them. The finished pieces should be squares that measure the same as the width of your "mechanism" strip. Score and fold the mechanism strip.</li>
<li>Prepare your background panel. For this card I decided to stamp my panel, but it also works great to use a piece of printed paper. The little strip measures .75" x 4", so it fits just right across the width of the background panel.</li>
<li>Before mounting the background panel onto the card base, the small strip needs to be securely attached, since it will be the piece that makes the waterfall work! I folded the mechanism strip so all the fold lines are on the front, and the back is the long, unfolded piece. Then I lined it up on the card where I wanted it. I want the little strip of printed paper to go across the background panel even with the bottom of the front, folded part of the mechanism strip. <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VJUN1vrmhBo/Wdv9fogCmJI/AAAAAAAADUQ/qZjvjzK4o0Y1BvxrqiUIlkA62OC0y0nfgCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/img_1060.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="244" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VJUN1vrmhBo/Wdv9fogCmJI/AAAAAAAADUQ/qZjvjzK4o0Y1BvxrqiUIlkA62OC0y0nfgCK4BGAYYCw/s320/img_1060.png" width="320" /></a></li>
<li>Attach just the ends of the little strip to the sides of the background panel. I use a little double-sided tape, and then add brads to be sure the ends are secure. <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gy5-K5Ib-1w/Wdv9mhfP_1I/AAAAAAAADUc/-Uyz3U1KlmoLF7oJk2SsehTgmA4TGYKOACK4BGAYYCw/s1600/img_1062.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gy5-K5Ib-1w/Wdv9mhfP_1I/AAAAAAAADUc/-Uyz3U1KlmoLF7oJk2SsehTgmA4TGYKOACK4BGAYYCw/s200/img_1062.png" width="171" /></a></li>
<li>Now the background panel can be mounted on the card base. Slide the long, unfolded part of the mechanism strip behind the small strip, lining up the bottom edge of the front, folded part with the bottom edge of the small paper strip. <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QYOFmRniu1w/Wdv9v4udjBI/AAAAAAAADUk/zH9sZvmxxvY3GuDOfW5cwvV2y1I8k7hlwCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/img_1064.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QYOFmRniu1w/Wdv9v4udjBI/AAAAAAAADUk/zH9sZvmxxvY3GuDOfW5cwvV2y1I8k7hlwCK4BGAYYCw/s320/img_1064.png" width="256" /></a></li>
<li>**This next part is the most important step of all.** Have the long end of the mechanism strip BEHIND the .75" strip of printed paper. Put glue only where the end of the folded front piece will be. Fold down the front piece, lining it up with the bottom of the printed paper strip. Be sure not to glue anything but the top to the printed paper. The long piece needs to be able to move freely. <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PL-ITRADIzQ/Wdv92Pu146I/AAAAAAAADUs/Dw4SXxnq-Ikt94qNXX7VWPFWqytnQHh_gCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/img_1063.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PL-ITRADIzQ/Wdv92Pu146I/AAAAAAAADUs/Dw4SXxnq-Ikt94qNXX7VWPFWqytnQHh_gCK4BGAYYCw/s320/img_1063.png" width="196" /></a></li>
<li>Now glue the square images in place. Each one will be glued to the mechanism strip, just below the fold line. Glue the first image down completely on the first square area, then be sure to put glue between the fold lines <u>only</u> as each image is added. <br /> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ha0YNWSxlzg/Wdv98_X4IqI/AAAAAAAADU0/VAcG8ETh8vUrO-jjVHi4atVZcG9Yyl8KQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/img_1065.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ha0YNWSxlzg/Wdv98_X4IqI/AAAAAAAADU0/VAcG8ETh8vUrO-jjVHi4atVZcG9Yyl8KQCK4BGAYYCw/s200/img_1065.png" width="177" /></a> <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4k8K1Y5aVWw/Wdv-CxduouI/AAAAAAAADU8/E7aKtxio5i4_bHxPbi70p-mcen2FoEvtQCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/img_1066.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="143" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4k8K1Y5aVWw/Wdv-CxduouI/AAAAAAAADU8/E7aKtxio5i4_bHxPbi70p-mcen2FoEvtQCK4BGAYYCw/s200/img_1066.png" width="200" /></a></li>
<li>Stamp or decorate the long part of the mechanism strip if desired, so designs will show when it is completely pulled out. I decided to cover the long piece with another piece of the rose printed paper I was using.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1CU4bkRHCZo/Wdv-zuK-C7I/AAAAAAAADVU/8YPwcKj_4dg7WioH1KgZhXkaIrkS417BgCK4BGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_1077.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1CU4bkRHCZo/Wdv-zuK-C7I/AAAAAAAADVU/8YPwcKj_4dg7WioH1KgZhXkaIrkS417BgCK4BGAYYCw/s320/IMG_1077.jpg" width="181" /></a></li>
</ol>

It's one of the items from a pattern I purchased from <a href="http://svgcuts.com/">svgcuts.com</a> called Haunted Forest. I'm using the Fall Fest Prints paper pack (PP-0048) from Fun Stampers Journey. It was definitely a challenge, and there are LOTS of mistakes, but I really enjoyed making it. I'm thinking of using it as a door prize at my October 28th class.<br />
